Important Announcement! Important Announcement! Whole Blood Glucose customers using LifeScan SureStep Flexx, Pro and Hospital or any instruments that feature a quality lock out to prevent running samples with too low a hematocrit or hemoglobin level such as the current AAB sample. This is not a reflection on the performance of the SureStep systems with respect to patient samples or SureStep control solution samples.
We are seeing problems with testing due to a low hematocrit. We have discussed the matter with LifeScan and feel that the issue will be limited to users of their hospital or professional strips. These instruments do not have a control mode that will allow the samples to be read. As such, please return your AAB result sheets without results. To assist us in further understanding this problem, please code your method, but write “No Results” in large letters near the top of the form. Online users can just submit the form with “No Results” and their instrument code in the comment field. AAB will be scheduling a makeup event at a later date for affected users. We will provide additional information on scheduling as that becomes available.
